Citizenship

Portuguese citizenship opens the door to living, working, and moving freely throughout the European Union. Nationality may be obtained through descent (children of Portuguese citizens or grandchildren and great-grandchildren who meet specific legal requirements), marriage or civil partnership with a Portuguese citizen, birth in Portugal, or legal residence in the country, subject to compliance with the deadlines and criteria established under the new Nationality Law enacted in 2026.

Each pathway requires specific eligibility criteria and supporting documentation to demonstrate a legal connection to Portugal. Our team provides strategic legal guidance to assess eligibility and manage the process with clarity, security, and legal precision.
